Godawari Slum in Nepal

The Beth Myriam in Nepal was established in 2009 by Christiane Plomben and was dedicated to helping children. It is placed in the Godawari slum in Kathmandu. It feeds 198 children from Sunday to Friday. The children get one hot meal a day that varies from one day to another. It can contain bulgar (rice with vegetables and red beans cooked together, noodles with vegetables, warm milk with bread and egg, fried rice with chicken, porridge with oat and banana, rice with lentils (Dahl-bath) and vegetables). The Beth Myriam also includes a ‘rolling Beth Myriam‘ in Surkhet, one of the 75 districts of Nepal located 600 km west of Kathmandu.
